Florida EV Fees and Incentives (2026)

Florida has no extra fee for electric cars, plug-in hybrids or hybrids; they pay the same weight-based license tax and standard fees as other cars.

No state-funded rebate or tax credit for buying an electric car is open in Florida as of October 2026; check your electric utility for local rebates.

The federal clean vehicle tax credits (up to $7,500 for a new EV, up to $4,000 for a used EV, and the commercial clean vehicle credit) ended for vehicles acquired after September 30, 2025. A vehicle still qualifies if a binding written contract was signed and a payment made by that date, even if it was delivered later; the credit is then claimed for the year of delivery.
