Your data stays with you

All calculations on Calk-USA run entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. The financial data you enter into our calculators (income, loan amounts, tax details, etc.) is never sent to our servers, stored in any database, or shared with any third party. When you close the page, your data is gone.

Third-party advertising

We use Google AdSense to display non-intrusive ads and support the free operation of this site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Our Android and iOS apps display ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect a device advertising identifier and limited usage and diagnostic data. On iOS, the app asks for your permission (App Tracking Transparency) before using the advertising identifier for tracking. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking / Apple Advertising; Android: Settings → Google → Ads).

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings. Alternatively, you may opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how our site is used (which pages are popular, how visitors find us). This data is aggregated and anonymized — we cannot identify individual users. Where a consent message applies (see below), analytics and advertising storage stay disabled until you make a choice.

Cookies & consent

We use Google's Consent Management Platform (CMP), a consent tool certified under the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. It determines from your location which privacy rules apply to you and shows the corresponding message:

• EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland — you are asked for consent before advertising or analytics cookies are set, and your choice is passed on to our advertising partners. Until you choose, advertising and analytics storage remain disabled.
• United States — where a state privacy law applies, you are shown the notice and opt-out choices that law requires. US privacy laws are opt-out rather than opt-in, so ads and analytics load by default and you may opt out at any time.
• Elsewhere — no consent message is shown; you can still opt out of personalized advertising using the Google and NAI links above.

You can reopen your choices at any time via the Privacy settings link in the site footer. That link appears only if a consent message applied to you in the first place.

We use the following storage:

• theme — stores your light/dark mode preference (localStorage, no expiry)
• Google CMP consent record — stores the consent choice you made in the message, so you are not asked again (cookie/localStorage, set only where a message applies)
• Google Analytics cookies — GA4, session-based
• Google AdSense cookies — advertising, expiry varies

GDPR (European visitors)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

• Right of access — you can request what personal data we hold about you (in practice, we hold none beyond anonymous analytics)
• Right to erasure — you can request deletion of your data
• Right to withdraw consent — use the Privacy settings link in the site footer to reopen the consent message and change your choice at any time
• Right to object — you can refuse consent in that message, and no tracking or advertising cookies will be set

Our legal basis for processing analytics and advertising data in these regions is your consent, collected through Google's certified Consent Management Platform. No personal financial data is ever collected or processed.

CCPA (California residents)

We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not collect personal financial data — the figures you type into a calculator never leave your browser. However, serving personalized advertising may qualify as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising, or as "targeted advertising", under California and several other state privacy laws. You can opt out through the notice Google's CMP shows to residents of those states, through the Privacy settings link in the footer, or through Google Ad Settings. California residents also have the right to know what personal information is collected — in our case, only the aggregated analytics and advertising data described above. Children

Our site is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised accordingly. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
