Does New Hampshire have paid family leave?
New Hampshire does not have a mandatory state paid family leave program. New Hampshire operates the Granite State Paid Family Leave Plan (launched January 2023) — a voluntary, opt-in program offered through MetLife. State employees receive coverage automatically; private-sector employers can opt in for their workforce, and individual workers can purchase coverage independently if their employer does not participate. Benefits are 60% of wages up to the Social Security wage base for up to 6 weeks per year. Eligible workers may still qualify for unpaid leave under the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), which provides up to 12 weeks of job-protected leave per year for qualifying events. Some employers offer their own paid parental or family-leave policies as a benefit; check your employee handbook or HR portal.
