Kansas 529 State Tax Benefit (2026)

Deduction of up to $3,000 ($6,000 on a joint return), per beneficiary. Kansas is one of the few “tax parity” states: contributions to any state’s 529 plan count, so you can pick a plan for its fees and investments and keep the state benefit.

The limit is per beneficiary, so contributions for several children each get up to $3,000 ($6,000 joint). Contributions made from January 1 through the filing deadline can be applied to the prior tax year.
