Arizona 529 State Tax Benefit (2026)
Deduction of up to $2,000 ($4,000 on a joint return), per beneficiary. Arizona is one of the few “tax parity” states: contributions to any state’s 529 plan count, so you can pick a plan for its fees and investments and keep the state benefit.
The limit is per beneficiary, and each contributor, such as a grandparent filing their own return, gets a separate limit. Rollovers between plans can't be subtracted. Nonqualified withdrawals must be added back, up to the amounts subtracted in earlier years.
